Baguio: To Be Wed Among the Pines

Thinking about getting married in Baguio City?

Around 6-8 hours north of Metro Manila is this small city nestled in the mountains of Benguet province. Baguio enjoys a year-round flow of local and foreign tourists wanting to escape the torrid temperature of the lowlands. It is, however, during the Philippine summer months of March, April and May that the city bustles with sightseers, earning it the monicker “Summer Capital of the Philippines”.

For your guests, the city is chock-full of tourist attractions that have been developed in its century-old history. Families will have endless fun in the American heritage sites, parks, flower gardens, churches and other religious monuments. Food connoisseurs will enjoy the multitude of restaurants, coffee shops, vegetable farms and fresh food markets. For history and culture buffs, there are ethnic Igorot villages, artist communes, bookstores and antique shops. In the month of February, Baguio City hosts the annual Panagbenga Festival, its very own Flower Festival in which the locals celebrate and exhibit beautiful and colorful flowers grown in the city.

All these together, and the rustic fascinating charm you can feel through narrow winding roads, towering pine trees and surrounding bucolic architecture, Baguio has become a dreamed destination for weddings and honeymoons.

Here are some wedding invitations we’ve done for weddings in Baguio City.

A yin-yang of sugarcane and pinecone was the centerpiece of this purple and silver pocketfold invitation. This invitation symbolizes the coming together of two strong forces, entwined and harmonized as one. The couple’s wedding was held in St. Joseph the Worker Parish where Filipino celebrities Aga Muhlach and Charlene Gonzales got married in 2001.

Complete with a save-the-date card, this invitation adorned with a picturesque tree illustration perfectly conveyed the city’s mountainous landscapes. The wedding was held in the majestic Baguio Cathedral also known as Our Lady of Atonement Cathedral.

Besides Baguio Cathedral and St. Joseph in Pacdal, soon-to-weds can also visit and check these churches in Baguio City:

Immaculate Conception Church
Holy Family Church
St. John Bosco
St. Louis University Parish
St. Ignatius Chapel

Baguio wedding reception venues could be at a private log cabin, a rest house mansion for rent, or in a hotel facility, depending on your theme and budget. Nonetheless, you may check these venues where most Baguio wedding receptions are held:

Destination weddings are fun and memorable especially if everybody can enjoy and appreciate the destination of choice. Planning for an out-of-town wedding can be tricky, but once you dream for it and everything’s properly laid out, a Baguio wedding – be it an intimate garden wedding, a church wedding, or a country-themed wedding – will always remain as a beautiful memory in the hearts of everyone.

Tagaytay: A City You’d Fall in Love With

Aristotle once said, “a great city is not to be confounded with a populous one.”

Tagaytay is one of those great cities you would want to go to for a real escape. It’s a perfect destination for quick and spontaneous getaways when you’re stressed out from metropolitan city life–the hustle and bustle of urban streets, the daily rush in the walkways, and the heavy traffic and unbearable pollution.

This city in the province of Cavite, nestled on the cradles of Taal Lake and Taal Volcano, is arguably one of the most popular tourist destinations in the Philippines. Foreign and local tourists alike can relax over freshly brewed native-grown coffee while relishing the beautiful view of Taal Volcano, all just within a 2 to 3-hour drive from Manila, the Philippine capital. It is a dreamland blessed with a romantic ambiance well suited for intimate gatherings, first dates, honeymoons or even weekend retreats with the whole family. With its cool climate, a breathtaking landscape, enjoyable leisure activities and fancy food stops. Tagaytay is definitely a city worth visiting over and over again.

The charm and romantic mood that Tagaytay City offers has brought about its reputation as one of the best destinations for church weddings and garden weddings. Through the years, Tagaytay has become a favorite wedding venue of Filipino celebrities and influential personalities with the picturesque churches and chapels and a long directory of enchanting garden hotels and restaurants with a stunning view of Taal Volcano.

Below are the most preferred churches in Tagaytay City and in its nearby towns.

Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Church
Madre de Dios Tagaytay Midlands
Ina ng Laging Saklolo
San Antonio de Padua (Silang, Cavite)
Chapel on the Hill (Nasugbu, Batangas)
Caleruega Transfiguration Chapel (Nasugbu, Batangas)

Take a look at these wedding invitations we’ve done for two Tagaytay church weddings. Both wedding ceremonies took place in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Church followed by a reception at Ville Sommet.

Kristofferson & Claire

A wedding that exudes the elegance of the occasion while emphasizing a Filipino wedding with its bordering abaca layer. Included in this invitation set is a map of their Tagaytay wedding venues.

Arwind & Ivette

The invitation of Arwind and Yvette in 2011 perfectly captures a garden wedding reception in Ville Sommet. It was an elegant pocket fold invitation in silver with pink and white floral and damask patterns beautifying the set.

Whether you’re having an afternoon garden wedding or an evening dinner reception, be mesmerized by the beauty and feel of these wedding reception venues our soon-to-weds prefer the most. Experience the cool Tagaytay breeze, enchanting yellow lights and unique architectural and interior designs of these quaint establishments in Tagaytay City and adjacent towns.
