Tangerine Tango: 2012 Color of the Year

Pantone, a worldwide authority on color, has been forecasting a “color of the year” since 2000. Pantone experts use psychology and studies of color trends of various industries to come up with their choice–a color to complement the spirit of the times.

For 2012, they chose Tangerine Tango. Pantone describes this color as a spirited reddish-orange hue to provide the energy boost we need to recharge and move forward. Orange is a color associated with hope and optimism by combining the passion of red and the friendliness of yellow. “Sophisticated but at the same time dramatic and seductive, Tangerine Tango is an orange with a lot of depth to it” says Leatrice Eiseman, Pantone’s executive director. This color is expected to be used in fashion, film, art and other industries. It will be no surprise if this vibrant color takes the wedding industry by storm.

Whatever your theme may be Tangerine Tango will have a place in your celebration. Here we’ve gathered a few designs that will show the versatility of this color.

Vicente & Madeleine

This letterpress wedding invitation uses splashes of tangerine to add energy and personality to the subdued design.

Angelo & Joanne
Definitely a color that can hold its own, Tangerine was the only color used in this wedding invitation.  Despite being the sole color used, it effectively gave life to the design and communicated the warmth of the ocassion.

Cebu: Of Majestic Churches and Cebuano Hospitality

Another well-loved wedding destination in the Visayas region is the province of Cebu. Made up of a long, narrow main island and 167 surrounding islands and islets. It boasts of serene lines of pristine beaches and greening nature parks, apart from the metropolitan cities of Cebu and Mandaue.

Its stunning Roman Catholic churches are one reason why Cebu is a favorite wedding destination in the country. Churches here appeal to all tastes, from historic to contemporary. These sites envelope you with a feel of a genuine Filipino celebration; topped off with the notable hospitality of Cebuanos, these churches lets you experience the essence of a Philippine wedding, much more, a Cebu wedding.

Some of the most popular churches in Cebu City include the Basilica Minore del Sto. Niño, Archbishop’s Chapel, Our Lady of the Sacred Heart, Redemptorist Church, St. Therese Parish Church, Cebu Metropolitan Cathedral and Sacred Heart Parish.

Up to this day, this hospitality and fidelity to tradition are signature characteristics of the progressive province of Cebu and is upheld by the Cebuano prime movers, dignitaries and ordinary individuals alike.

Let’s take a look at these remarkable weddings that took place in the beautiful Queen City of the South.

Boracay: The Beach Paradise of the South

Awarded 2nd best beach in the world in the “Travelers’ Choice 2011 by TripAdvisor, this small island in the Visayas is a world-renowned paradise for beach lovers and aqua sports enthusiasts. This island at the northern tip of Aklan stretches up to about seven kilometers long and boasts two primary tourism beaches, White Beach and Bulabog Beach, graced with hotels, resorts, restaurants, lodging houses, and other establishments, making it one of the most favorite beach getaways.

Boracay is definitely one of the country’s hottest tourist spots with a wide range of accommodations and activities both for local and foreign visitors – a reason why this haven is also regarded as one of the most sought-after beach wedding venues in the Philippines.

If you wish to pursue a dream beach wedding in the island, bear in mind that a Boracay church wedding can only take place at the Holy Rosary Parish since it is the only church in the area. Don’t fret, though, because this rather small island offers a variety of wedding reception options for you to choose from. You can select a place that would best accommodate your wedding theme and activities, just like these two weddings we’ve worked for this year:

Marvin & Babes

A bright shade of yellow enlivens this invitation for a Church wedding in Boracay. Although the wedding ceremony was held at Holy Rosary Parish, this invitation perfectly spreads the vibrant mood of its beach reception held at the deluxe Friday’s Boracay, one of the first 5-Star resorts in the island.  Seashell icons and an illustrated image of a starfish were the highlights of this invite.

Ferdinand & Vernadette

Enclosed in a fuchsia box is this beach-themed luxe modern invitation for a wedding by the beach at Discovery Shores, Boracay. An abaca belt embellished with a preserved real starfish sets the tone for an afternoon of an intimate new beginning for Ferdinand and Vernadette.
